If you are looking at buying a used piano from an individual, please realize there are many factors to consider to evaluate a piano. As I state on my piano tuning services page, a piano is not just a piece of furniture. It is also a musical instrument. We charge $30 for an analysis and diagnosis of used pianos. It may cost a small amount to save a lot in the long run. I have many stories of how someone paid hundreds of dollars for an old antique upright only to find out they needed to spend hundreds more just to get it to playing condition.
